Details
The PSC Developmental Program includes the Basic Program and the Developmental Academy.
- The Basic Program provides children ages 4 to 7 (5U-8U age group) an opportunity to learn fundamental skills while introducing them to the game of soccer in a fun, safe, and positive environment. Children play in the PSC Developmental League, giving them the chance to play against many different teams and friends. The program is open to any girl or boy 4-7 years old. To participate, parents only need to register online.
The program will be held on Sunday afternoons, starting April 19th and ending May 31st, with each team having a 45 minute practice, run by the team's parent-coach(es) followed by a game.
- The Developmental Academy is for 6 and 7 year old children (birth years 2012 and 2011) who want the more intensive instructional environment of day-to-day professional coaching. Developmental Academy teams play in the PSC Developmental League. The program is open to any 7U or 8U year old boy or girl. To participate, parents only need to register online.
In addition to the same Sunday activities as the Basic Program, 45 minute parent-coach run practice and game, the Developmental Academy teams will have an additional practice each week, for 60 minutes, coached by one of the PSC Iowa Professional Coaches. This will allow the players to develop much quicker than other players and allow players/parents to see the advantages of the additional coaching and the atmosphere of club soccer. Developmental Academy will begin the week of April 7th and conclude the week of June 1.
